Why I Opened a Needlepoint Store in North Myrtle Beach

At North Myrtle Beach Needlepoint, stitching is more than just a hobby — it’s a way to slow down, connect with others, and create something beautiful with your hands.
My love for needlework started very early. I grew up in South Africa surrounded by creativity. Both of my grandmothers did tapestry, and my great-aunt was an incredibly talented hand embroiderer. Once a week she would pick me up from school, take me to her house, and patiently teach me how to embroider.
Those afternoons sparked something in me. From that point on, I was always working with my hands. I grew up around knitting, crocheting, sewing clothes, and quilting. I truly can’t remember a time when I didn’t have some kind of needle or crochet hook in my hand.
As an adult, I eventually discovered needlepoint, and I instantly fell in love. It combined everything I loved about fiber arts — beautiful materials, creativity, and the simple joy of stitching.
